Residential Lighting Exterior

2008 Local Winner—Residential Lighting, Exterior
This project consisted of designing and installing outside lighting, as well as a complete lighting control system, for a 15,000 square foot home.
Because the home was set far from the road on a quiet cul de sac, there was no street lighting nearby to offset the property’s natural darkness and seclusion. To improve the safety and security of their home, the clients decided to install an exterior lighting scheme that was both functional and decorative.

To achieve the desired results, we added more than 80 strategically placed lights throughout the property, including areas at the front of the house, side pathways leading to the pool area, trees in the front yard and along the driveway, and the pillars at the entrance to the driveway.

After

We also installed a wireless home lighting control system, allowing homeowners to easily control their new additions. All of the outside lighting areas (along with several interior areas) are now programmed into scenes that can be automatically triggered by a time clock or manually adjusted by separate master controls.

Thanks to the new lighting and controls, the clients’ home is now secure, beautifully lit, and controlled with just a few intuitive devices throughout the house.

After
Low Voltage Uplighting Bucks County We used uplighting techniques to enhance the texture of the stone façade and create shadows for a dramatic look.
After
Low Voltage Exterior Lighting Newtown PA One specific request was to light the lions at the front entry. This posed a challenge, as normal fixtures would aim light directly at the front door, creating a potentially blinding distraction in the entryway. To prevent this, we installed special reflector lamps and fixtures to minimize glare and make the fixtures unobtrusive.
